Petition of the inhabitants of New Kincardine colony to His Excellency, Samuel L. Tilley, lieutenant governor, and the Executive Council of New Brunswick. – March 1877. – 1 p. of textual records. The colonists request $200 out of the stumpage fund for the construction of a church. Their request for funds was eventually granted. Copy of letter from John James Fraser to the Rev. Peter Melville, New Kincardshire [sic], Victoria Co. – 11 April 1877. – 1 p. of textual records. Fraser acknowledges receipt of the settlers’ petition and states that their request to apply a portion of the stumpage money toward the building of a church will be brought before the Executive Council.
